Carolyn and Tom's first child is born. He is named after two of his uncles. His grandmother, Anne Varner, suggested the names to Carolyn. She said "Clint" for Wade McClintock and "Irvin" for Paul Irving and said that "if he turned out like them that he'd be a good man".
